Albany is the Capital of New York, the seat of Albany County. It’s approximately 135 miles north of New York City. The population of the city was 97,904 as of 2012. Albany has close ties with the nearby cities of Troy, Schenectady, and Saratoga Springs, forming a region called the Capital District and now with the expansion of tech manufacturing in the area is part of the Tech Valley Region.
