Guilderland is located in the central-north-west border of Albany County and is just west of Albany. In the 2010 census, the town had a population of 35,303. The town is named for the Gelderland province in the Netherlands. There are several villages and hamlets located within the town including Altamont and Voorheesville. It is located in the Guilderland School District.
